Race Day

Race Day!! Here is the reason my mom and I ended up at a Nascar Race-Clint Boyer!! My mom became a HUGE fan about a year ago when she decided to join a Nascar Club with the guys she works with. Her driver was Clint Boyer and she has been hooked ever since! She even got to meet him Thursday night and get her shirt signed by him!!

The ladies my mom works with got her 2 tickets to the races Saturday and I was the lucky one that got to go...and now I am kind of hooked!! I didn't know if I would like it, but it was a lot of fun!

Here is the race, my mom and I kept trying to get a picture of Clint's car, but never did. The people around us probably thought we were nuts, but oh well!! Some people rented the headphones and you could listen to the drivers...we didn't rent them, but the guy next to us did and he was nice enough to let my mom and I listen for a while!! That was pretty cool! I also thought they would be a good gift for my brother-in-law's upcoming birthday, he could really tune me out if he had those things on!!! Here my mom and I are before the race! We both had on Clint Boyer shirts. They are both hers and she insisted that I wear one!! I was a sport and wore it, at least mine was the cool one (as cool as Nascar shirts can get!!).
Almost as good as the races...seeing my great friend Dave!! When I found out I was going I called him because I figured he would be there too! It was great to see him! All of the trailers were you could buy stuff. We bought Dylan a shirt that says Grandma's racing buddy!

Another one with them pushing the cars in place, why don't they just drive them in place? Another question-why do they only have seats on one side of the track? This has really been bugging me, and no one I know can answer it! So, anyone out there with the answer...please share with me!!!

My mom and I are already planning on going back next time, it really was a lot of fun! Next time I think Ash is going too! I really think Brad should go too, I will sit next to him to prove that I can stay quiet for 2-3 hours (I have to, it is so loud you can't talk, or you can and no one can hear you!!).

What a studious little man I have! He is reading himself a bedtime story! Do you see all the critters he has to sleep with?


Friday night we went to the circus in Kansas City with my mom and dad. My mom's company did a family thing, so a lot of her co-workers were there! She swore to them Dylan wouldn't get a single toy at the circus...he walked out with this light and a motorcycle!! Grandpa is such a sucker!! Here Dylan and Bridan are with their circus toys!! Do you blame chicks for digging my handsome son and his handsome friend!!!



Dylan and I had our second art class tonight! We made a tree with his handprints, a lion, and a can to put things in! What a fun time we have!
Can I say adventure...we had our first school skating party tonight and I decided to take Dylan! He did very well for being 2 and a new skater! It took us about 10 minutes to get around the rink once, but he never fell! The 2nd time around he decided he was too cool to hold mommy's hand-I don't think so!!! He was JUMPING in his skates and would fall on his bottom on purpose! It was fun, but we left after going around twice, it was hard work!!!

Choo Choo and Art Class

Dylan and I are taking an "art class" all month at the community center. Tonight was his first one! He made a sunflower and a door hanger (no picture of that one!!). He did such a great job. He painted all by himself and helped me glue the sunflower seeds on.

I can't do a blog without Dylan-here he is in his big boy pants--not really potty training yet, just thinking about it!!!!!!! My cousin Whitney (future soccer star for WU), her friend Whitney, and I tailgating at the KSU game.

Oh, how I love Kansas State football, and K-State in general! My mom and I, yes my mom and I went to the K-State football game this weekend! It was so much fun being back in Manhattan. I wouldn't trade anything in the world for my life now, but going back makes me miss my college days! I loved just about every minute of college! I met some great friends and made wonderful memories!! I was so lucky to go to K-State when the football team was at its best! That is when I fell in love with the sport, yes my sister had to teach me all about it that first year, but I understand most of it now! My first 2 years Ashley, our friends Jaime and Amber and I would get to all the games 4 hours early, sit outside the gates then run in when they opened the gates to the stadium. We were in the 2nd row for every single game. The 4 of us wore KSU doo-rags and cheered our butts off!! We made the jumbo-tron several times!! My all time favorite was the Nebraska game when it was snowing and we beat them and got to rush the field--and I touched Quincy Morgan's shoulder-amazing to me!!! Then my last 2 years Ash would come up and we tailgated with friends and then went into the game as it was starting--also so much fun!!



Manhattan is just a happy place with wonderful people! The color purple is everywhere and the town is filled with K-State pride.

I hate to bore you, but here are some of my favorite things about my college years...

FOOTBALL games!! Loved the songs, cheers, dances, and traditions!! Amazing how they all come back to you when you are there!

Aggieville-what a place, spent many nights and lots of money there!!! That is where I fell in love with tequila and Jager shots--yuck, don't love them now-just beer please!

Education-of course the reason I was in college was so I could become a teacher-and I really did like all of my classes and walking around the beautiful campus.

Friends-I hung out with some pretty cool people in college and made some good friends, too bad we all went to different places after graduation-still talk to some, but not all. Funny how things change when we all get jobs, get married, have kids...we are all so busy with our lives!!

PURPLE-You wouldn't believe how many purple t-shirts I had in college, I still wear my KSU purple, but I no longer own 20+ purple K-State shirts, I swear in college I did!!

dinners with Ashley-every Wednesday night my sister and I went out to dinner, it was our time together and a time to catch up. Funny, we still do dinner on Wednesdays, but we have added 2 husbands and a child!!

Happy Grandparents' Day!!!

These are a few weeks old, but still cute! Dylan and my dad made a birthday cake for my mom! Dylan took his own apron, cooking utensils, and sprinkles to their house so he could do it!

Since Dylan sleeps in a "big bed" now my parents got one for their house. Not as cool as his car bed at home, but still very cute! He has a whole production at bed time. He has to have his blankie, pillow, and now his bear, bunny rabbit, Elmo, and duckie! The duckie was just added this week! It is pretty funny, we read him a story then Dylan and I have to kiss every animal and tell them goodnight! It takes a while, but it is worth it. It is so cute hearing him say, goodnight elmo, goodnight bunny rabbit...what a character he is!!!

Hey, it's me, Dylan! Just wanted to let everyone know that I have the best grandpa and grandma ever! Sunday is Grandparents' day, so I want to do something just for them! I know it is late, and I shouldn't be on the computer, but hey it's Friday, and Fridays I get to stay up and party!!!





Ok, here is why I have the best grandmass and grandpas in the whole wide world (oh, and if I don't count in order it is because I don't know all my numbers in order yet-mom is making me work on it, but I am more into my sports!)





#9 Grandma Packard takes real good care of me while mommy and daddy work. She lets me eat snacks with the big kids and play ball in the house.


#7 Grandma Shaver lets me eat suckers when we go shopping. She thinks I sit better in the cart when I am entertained with a sucker. Now whenever she goes for her purse I think I am getting a dum dum!


#6 Grandpa Packard lets me mess up his backyard with my toys and swimmin pool!


#5 Grandpa Shaver lets me do whatever I want when we are together! We go outside and play and go on adventures by the creek. Sometimes grandma worries, but we have walkie talkies now, so she can relax!

#3 Grandma and grandpa Shaver let me sleep at their house! They like when I visit on the weekends, so they call mommy a lot and ask if I can come over and play! I guess they get bored without me because they sure ask a lot. I think it is good though because sometimes I need a break from mommy and daddy! I know they miss me though because they always call and bug us!

#2 they buy me lots of toys! Grandma Packard just bought me a new red football and grandma shaver just bought me a new outfit!

drum roll please.........and the best thing about my grandmas and grandpas is.............they give me lots and lots of hugs and kisses, and they love me very, very, very much!!

Train Ride

This weekend we went to Baldwin City to take Dylan on a train ride. This was on a real train (and a real old train!!) and was about 40 minuted round trip. Dylan enjoyed it, and loved looking out the window.
