My boy is 4.

How is it possible that 4 years has passed already.

It has gone so fast. So, So fast.

He has learned so much, and changed so much.

One thing hasn't changed...he is still a momma's boy.

Just bigger, more grown up, and talks a little more! I am so proud to be the mommy of this 4 year old little boy.

I feel so lucky to be the one to teach him and guide him through life (with the help of his super-cool daddy!!).

Leading up to this day I struggled. Not sure I was ready for him to be 4. I have never been one to get sad or emotional about growing up. I could care less about how old I am, and I have always been excited about Dylan getting older! But the past week has been hard. He does so many things that reminds me that he is getting older. More grown up and more independent!

But today was good. Not sad at all. We had a fun party with his friends.

Getting older will be good. That's what life is all about.

Drums

My special corner in the playroom, the one I like to relax in with my ribbon and sewing machine...well it has a new neighbor. A very loud neighbor. His name is Mr. Drum Set!! Dylan got a drum set for his birthday from Grandma and Grandpa Packard. He wanted it sooooo bad. If you asked him what he wanted he would say, "A drum set." He has been building his own drum set for weeks at home. Now he doesn't have to build one, he has a real one. He is playing all of his favorite country songs. Next to my favorite corner.

Corner

This is a very small corner of our playroom that is all mine. It has a few of my new favorite things. Ribbon, fabric, and my sewing machine! I love spending time here after the babies are in bed or during nap time. I love to make hair bows. Fabric flowers. Birp rags. Blankets. Dresses. Anything pretty!

It has become my new hobby. Just what I needed in my sometimes crazy life. And...it's addicting. I L.O.V.E ribbon. Can you tell?

Lucky for me, my sister also loves all of these things. We have a little something up our sleeve. Nothing big, just a way for us to do something with all the things we love to create. I will tell you more later!!

Why do they have to grow up so fast?

Oreo Balls

Want to make some Oreo Balls? They are super yummy. My fabulous friend Tiffany makes them and shared the recipe. They are so simple.

1. Put some softened cream cheese in a bowl.

2. Pick out some Oreos at the store. We picked out cool mint. Next time it's going to be Peanut Butter Oreos. Before you crush them up in a food processor take a picture so you can blog about it. But make sure the carpet cleaning guys are there. And make sure you take the picture of the Oreos while the guy watches. Because he'll think you are crazy and probably talk about the weird lady that takes pics of Oreos. Yep, happened to me. I didn't explain that I am blogging this, I just put my camera down and turned the other way!

3. Add crushed Oreos to cream cheese and mix well. Use a mixer. Unless you have some super strong arms. I don't, so I used a mixer.4. Have your super cute helper form them into balls. He will love it and his hands will get messy!
5. Put your Oreo balls in fridge or freezer for a while.
6. Melt some chocolate, whatever kind you like. Drizzle chocolate over your Oreo balls, or drop them in the chocolate to cover the entire ball.
7. Take them to your friend's house for movie night. While at movie night sit in a broken chair, while wearing a skirt. Sit around the table talking to some friends while in broken chair. Sit too long and break the chair. Fall on the floor, show everyone your undies (since you're in skirt) and laugh until your belly hurts with your friends. Yep, that happened to me too. What a day I was having!!

Creative Guy

Dylan is a very creative little guy. He loves artsy type things. Whether it be coloring, painting, or crafting...he loves it all. His table is filled with art supplies. He just sits there and creates. Then we have to find places to put his masterpieces. Right now we have several hanging in our room, his room, the playroom, and on the fridge of course! I always knew I wanted my kids pictures around the house, and I love how it makes him feel when we hang another one up! He also is to the point that he can just do it all on his own. He can get his own water, paper, open the paints..makes it a little messy but oh well!! I do think I need to get a big table cloth to put under his table!! It will help keep the carpet clean! He also loves to create houses and buildings. I love watching his creative juices flow. Telling me what everything is for. Where the people live. Play. Swim. He adds it all to his buildings! He also gets quite upset when they fall down. Not sure how he's going to react in a couple months when Saylor can scoot her way to his buildings and knock them down. I can already hear the fit now!

And then this....he poured water in his sink the other day while he was making me hot chocolate!! I thought, whatever, it's just water! Well today he made it blue by adding the water from his paint cups. And as you can see it's a swimming pool. With a diving board and slide. How creative is that!! I couldn't even get mad at that. So, I just put a towel under his kitchen and called it good. Oh, and see those marbles in the red bowl..I think they are the swimmers!!

I love watching him play and create!

Love

I don't think I will ever get tired of taking pictures like this. There is so much love. Most of these aren't staged. He wants Saylor to be right with him a lot. Asks for her. Asks to have their picture taken. It is so sweet. He lights up when she's around. She also loves having her big brother around. Watches him. Smiles at him. I love it! I know it won't last forever, so I am enjoying it while I can!

Weekend

We had a bright and sunny weekend! It was full of being outside, BBQs with family, swimming, hanging out, and most of all LOTS of laughing! We have a busy month ahead. Seth and I were filling out our calendar for this month and we have a lot going on. Swimming lessons, soccer camp, night out in KC, 5th wedding anniversary, and the biggest of all...my boy turns 4!!!

And this lady, she'll be 4 months. Wow, a 4 year old and a 4 month old! How fun!
