uh oh!

We were playing baseball in the house the other night and had our first (of many I am sure) accidents! Dylan hit the ball and it went straight for the Easter picture frame! Dylan knew it was bad, but how could we get mad when we were letting him play baseball in the living room! He wanted to fix it, so he got his hammers and screws!! What a good handy man!!

Our Soccer Star Whitney

This is my fabulous cousin Whitney (her brother and sister are just as fabulous!!). She is a senior in high school and signed a letter of intent to play soccer for Washburn University next year (Washburn is a university here in Topeka). I am so proud of this young lady...she is such a star! Whitney has played soccer forever and it has really payed off for her. I know she will do awesome next year and Washburn is very lucky to have her as a player and student! So proud Whit! I love you! This is the whole Drane family! Uncle Mike (my mom's brother), Courtney (a sophomore at KSU), Whitney, Brady (8th grader), and Aunt Sherly!! They are so much fun-I'm glad they're mine!!

Back to Work...

It's time to go back to work tomorrow! Dylan and I had a fabulous spring break. The weather was beautiful! We went to play putt putt 3 times, went to see Grandma and Grandpa Shaver in KC for 2 days. Had lunch with Aunt Ashley. Shopped and played outside! I just love spending my days with Dylan. He is at such a fun age right now. He really has a funny personality. He sings Twinkle Twinkle Little Star all the time-I will sure miss that all day long!
Here are some of my favorite things Dylan said this week...
As Dylan jumped off my bed I said, "don't do that Dylan, it scares mommy" his response was "it only scares me a little"
Dylan was screaming in the car (to be funny) and I told him "that hurts mommy's ears" and he told me "it only hurts your ears a little"
As I was getting ready Dylan looked up at me and said "mommy you look so pretty" just melts my heart.
he calls putt putt "golfin in the hole"
he told me SEVERAL times "we'll go golfin in the hole in 20 minutes" even when we had no plans of golfin in the hole!

OK, that is all I can think of now, I need to get to bed, I am sure 5:45 will come a lot sooner than 8:30 has for the past week!

We took Dylan to play putt putt yesterday and he has talked about it non-stop since! He even had a VERY big melt down yesterday because he wanted to play "golfin in the hole". That is what he calls it! At home he hits gold balls-but not into a hole! He loves it! Today we went again with our cousins Courtney and Brady. They are so much fun to hang out with! Court is a sophomore at K-State and Brady is in 8th grade! Their sister Whitney is having a rough week so she couldn't make it....she is in the Bahamas!! It is her senior year, so she went there with some friends and all their moms! I didn't golf today, I was the score keeper! Here Dylan and Brady are after Brady got a hole in one! He got it on hole 17! Brady was happy to finality get one since Court and Dylan got one earlier in the game!

Today we took Dylan to play putt putt for the first time! We weren't sure how it would go. He enjoys "golfing" at home, but never into an actual hole! It was so much fun and he did pretty good. We went to a place that has animals and nursery rhyme characters. He would hit the ball pretty good and even got a few pars!! This time he had to take it up to the lizard-he couldn't get it up the big hill. It is funny trying to help him though-he is left handed, so I always want to help him using his right hand-I just don't think about it!

On another note...what do you think? Too girly for the parade?? Daddy thinks so!

My little Baker!

We love making cupcakes! Tonight as we made them we had some firsts! Dylan dropped his first egg!! Thank goodness my FABULOUS sister was here to clean it up! Not that I couldn't have done it...it was just nice that she was here! Mommy is getting a little worn down with daddy gone all week again!!Then my FABULOUS sister picked up my mess! Yep, while the egg was still on the floor, I dropped an entire box of spaghetti. Did I mention my sister is FABULOUS??!!

Thanks for keeping us company tonight and picking up our messes!! We love you!

Life is good...

Life is good! The weather is AWESOME. Seth came home 2 days early. We got in lots of time in the backyard!!!

Here Dylan is playing baseball! He didn't want to hit off his tee so daddy pitched to him. I was pretty impressed with his baseball skills! We got plates for him to use as bases-it was pretty funny watching him run around them!!

Missin my hubby!

Man I miss my husband!!
I miss the help.
I miss the kisses.
I miss the presence of him at home.
I even miss the snoring at night.

Seth is out of town again this week. He has been home for 2 weeks straight so we knew the time was coming again. It stinks, but not having a job would stink even more. He really likes his new job and is doing very well. We knew taking this job there would be traveling, and that is fine, we can handle it, but I still miss him!!

Dylan misses his daddy too. Tonight for the first time he started crying and saying he just wanted his daddy! It broke my heart and I just wanted to cry with him. I stayed strong and just hugged him real tight!

We are lucky though! We have good friends and family that keep us busy! My friend Amber and her daughter Ava came over for dinner and to play tonight (Amber's husband is working nights right now, so she is in the same boat!!). We are going to dinner at my sister's tomorrow, my mom and I sometimes meet for dinner in Lawrence and we play with my friend Jennifer and her son Elijah a lot!!

It all helps, but nothing replaces daddy being home!

good friends, drinks, and fun games

This is Ken, Seth, and Brad-they are thinking hard on a question while we played Battle of the Sexes! Not a great game, Apples to Apples was next and we had a blast playing that one!

Do Saturday mornings get any sweeter than this.... curled up on "daddy's chair" watching Noggin! We love our weekend mornings, Dylan wakes up whenever he wants and comes straight to our bed and we all 3 watch cartoons for at least an hour! We laugh, cuddle, hide under the covers, and have lots of visits from the "tickle monster"!! Life is good!

How funny are these pictures! We started potty training Dylan this weekend. Things are going OK! We will see how the next couple of days go. While we are home Dylan pretty much hangs out in his undies! He thinks he is pretty darn cute. I told him I wanted to take a picture of Diego on his bottom and this is how he posed!I think this one if so funny! This little guy makes me so happy!!

Now I am off to play baseball in the house with my little underwear model...yes he is still in his undies and we are playing ball in the house, could life be any better than this???

We are going here this summer...I bet we will meet...

I am soooo excited! We will be going in mid June, a few weeks before Dylan's 3rd birthday! The whole trip will be an adventure. It will be Dylan's first time on an airplane-he is pretty excited about that. I think he thinks Mickey Mouse will be on the plane, he keeps saying I am going on an airplane to see Mickey Mouse! I have been to Disney World once, I was in college. I loved it! I know it will be so much more fun going with Dylan (and Seth) and seeing it through a child's eyes!!

Later in July Seth will be going here...

I don't know if I am going with him. I can't decide! He really wants me to go, so I probably will! The reason for the trip is to bowl! The guys he bowls with asked him to go for a tournament. I am thinking I would lay out by the pool and relax! I am not big into gambling, but I LOVE to shop and lay out, so I think I would enjoy myself! I went to Vegas in college and I can remember the shopping, it was fabulous!

For now, Seth is in Colby and then Hays for the week. He had to leave today and hopefully he will be home Friday. Dylan and I are bowling (he takes after daddy) upstairs with his new laughing and talking bowling pins! He keeps telling me to do it-but every time I try he says I don't do it right??? Last time he told me, "no, not like that silly!" He is such a character!
