Playing Outside

Like I have said before, Dylan LOVES being outdoors!! Over the beautiful weekend we were able to spend some time outside and Dylan enjoyed his new bubble toy!

Dylan had to help daddy measure the yard to make sure the swing set would fit and he would still have room to play other games. We decided to take down one of the fences that was separating the yard and Seth isn't quite done taking out all the pieces!

Here is the swing set Dylan is getting for his birthday from Grandma and Grandpa Shaver and Aunt Ashley and Uncle Brad!! We are ordering it tonight and planning on getting it up Mother's Day Weekend (and Seth's birthday-Happy Birthday Daddy)! It will be an early present but this way he can start enjoying it earlier! It has 2 swings, the glider and under the clubhouse there is a picnic table and sandbox.

I know, I look like a dork, but I had to do it!! We have a new tradition in our family and I was the first one to get to do it-we have a plate that says, Packard's Blue Plate Special, and whenever someone does something special they get to use it for dinner and I got to use it last week!! I am very proud to say that... I got a new job!!! I have been teaching 3rd grade at Quincy for the past 5 years and I have loved every minute of it, but it was time for a change so I am going to be teaching 4th grade next year at Randolph! It is in the same district just a different school! It is about 5 minutes from home and a great school (I've heard)!! I am so excited to start something new next year, it will be a challenge but I am up for it!! Dylan bowled for the first time Sunday and loved it! His cousin had a birthday party at the bowling alley so we let Dylan join in the fun!! He comes from a long line of bowlers on the Packard side so it was pretty neat to see him out there! At first he tried kicking the ball then he pushed it down the lane with daddy's help! He scored 68 I believe, not too bad for a first timer!!

We have a very confused son!! This was taken early in the tournament when K-State and KU were both in it! I understand that Dylan will more than likely grow up and be a KU fan but that in no way means mommy will cheer for the Jayhawks!! I am working on Go Cats but all he wants to say is Jayhawk!

I know it is late but I tried to post this picture from Easter a few other times and this is the first time it worked?? Isn't he the cutest in his plaid blazer!! He had a great time on Easter and was a hit in Lancaster with Great Grandma Shaver!
The next George Brett!! Dylan got a T-Ball set from Grandma and Grandpa Packard and he loves it! We had it inside for a few days and that is all he played with. He had even more fun outside. Our 80 year old neighbor came over to watch and he wanted her to take a swing too!! He is very good at sharing!!

We love ice cream!! When Grandma Shaver came to visit Saturday the ice cream truck came down the street so they had to go out and buy something! Dylan got a Spongebob Popsicle and we enjoyed it in the porch!

Friday Dylan and I filled Easter Eggs with Jelly Beans then hid them upstairs for Seth to find!! Dylan did good hiding them and only found one for Seth! While we were filling the eggs Dylan would put a few in jelly beans in the eggs and eat a few!! He sure likes jelly beans! Here he is trying to pour them, it didn't work so well!
He did much better this way!
We also painted Easter cards for everyone and decorated them with stickers! He likes painting but doesn't like to get paint on himself, he was very careful!

Dylan got another haircut Tuesday at a place just for kids! They had all kinds of cars to sit in (Dylan chose a Hummer!) and a TV at every station for the kids to watch! He really got a big boys haircut and he doesn't look the same!!

Spring Break!! Dylan and I have enjoyeed our week together! We have gone to the park (our favorite place to visit) and to the zoo. It has been such a great week and the weather has been wonderful!



Here we are at the zoo with some friends! Two girls I work with have boys as well so we took them to the zoo Wednesday.

Guess Who wrote on the board?? Daddy did one, mommy did one, and Dylan did one-can you guess who did what???

The past couple of nights we went to the park. We have really been enjoying the beautiful weather! Tuesday night Dylan and daddy played outside while I was stuck in the house making dinner. It was fun to look out the kitchen window and watch them play though! After dinner we went to the park. Dylan went down all the slides by himself and then tried to climb back up the slides!

Wednesday night we had our weekly dinner with my sister and her husband. After dinner we all went to another park by their house. It was fun but the slides were a little big for Dylan! This was something that he could sit on and it would spin. It made me sick watching!! He enjoyed it but when he got off he fell down, I guess he was dizzy!
This is a slide Dylan and daddy were going to go down together but once they got up Seth realized he was too tall to go down sitting up. Dylan really wanted to go down so Seth sent him down and I waited on the bottom, I was very nervous! Well Dylan stopped half way down and got scared so Seth had to go down head first to push him down the rest of the way. It was pretty funny, but I was a little scared.

The Past Couple of Weeks!

Our newest adventure...Dylan is driving!! He got a new tricycle over the weekend so we had to try it out Sunday afternoon. He LOVES the horn and it distracts him from paying attention to the road--when he turns 16 and really drives we will make sure he doesn't have a cool Thomas horn to distract him!

We also had to try out all of our modes of transportation! Here he is in his wagon. We had this last year but didn't ride in it too much, hopefully this year he will sit down in it and not try to stand and escape!
And his convertible!! I think we can take the floor out of this one so he can go on his own--kind of like the Flinstones!

And last, but not least, his worm! He does ride this one, but he was pushing it this time. I am not sure why! Our garage looks like a car lot for kids!! We need to get his dump truck out there too--but he likes to play with that one in the house!!

And the last one of Dylan--we went to the zoo last weekend. He loved it--he knows so many of the animals now. When we were looking at the Hippos he was yelling Hippo, it was like he was informing everyone that the big animal they were looking at was a hippo (I guess in case they didn't already know!!). He also told all of the animals bye when we left their exhibits!

I cannot believe my baby boy isn't a baby anymore! He is growing up sooo fast.

He is catching on to so many things. He can say most of his colors, but he doesn't really know what they are. I think he is confused because now his ball is a green ball or his car is a red car?? We are trying. He also said Aunt Ashley and Uncle Brad-hard to understand but we all get it! He can say Wildcat, and I have to admit he knows a bad word...JAYHAWK!!! He points to all Jayhawks and says yahawk!! Not too cute if you ask me!! At the store yesterday a lady was in our way so he told her to "GO" I was a little embarrassed and apologized--she thought it was great!! We need to work on manners I guess!! So much more, but I do need to get back to work (no students today and only 4 days until SPRING BREAK)!

One last one, we went to Dave and Busters with some friends Saturday night, here is Seth playing a hunting game with his manly powder blue gun, I guess it is better than a pink one!! They look so serious!
