Seth's first blue plate special!! This is for several things--I just forgot to have him eat off the plate! First of all--bowling! Some of you know Seth bowls and has bowled for the past 15 years. He is quite good, and I am not just saying that because I am his wife!! This year he was in the Top 10 for Gage Bowl. I believe this is the 3rd year he has been in it! Basically this means he is in the Top 10 for that bowling alley. I think he was 4th season for the ! Wow!! For the Top 10 tournament he has to bowl 10 games in a row and he got 5th place this year! One year he was also in the Top 10 for all of Topeka! I am lucky to get a 230 in 10 games combined and that is what he averages for one game! The other reasons, Father's Day, his 28th birthday and our 3 year anniversary! By the way--in case you are wondering what in the world he is eating--it is BBQ brisket and oven potatoes! Yummy!



Dylan's new big bed! Going OK now, I will let you know in a couple weeks if the crib is officially put up! For now the crib is taken apart but still in the living and dining room! We aren't sure how this new bed thing is going to work out!!

Great Memories!

Dylan's first blue plate special! Something we started is the Packard's Blue Plate Special-Dylan was able to eat off it for the first time Saturday morning for finishing his swimming lessons! He did a great job and is quite the little swimmer!



Here is a memory that our family will share for many many years to come! Friday morning Dylan and I decided to make a TRIPLE layer chocolate cake from SCRATCH for Father's Day! It is my grandma's award winning recipe and the first time I had made it. In the morning we worked together on the 3 cakes. Dylan stood on his step stool and poured in most of the ingredients--and it has a lot of ingredients!! We baked the cakes and they cooled all afternoon. While they were cooling my mom called several times to see how it was going--she doubted my abilities and thought the cake would be lopsided. It was all in good fun though, she knows when it comes to cooking I have my dad's skills, not hers (thankfully!) She is the best mom in the world, but not a cook!! That evening Dylan and I made the HOMEMADE frosting and began to frost all 3 layers! Again, he was on his step stool helping out. We had just put the top layer on and we were frosting the sides. The cake was looking great. It was standing and it was pretty straight! I have to admit, I was very proud of Dylan a myself! Well, as I was frosting Dylan grabbed a measuring cup from the sink that was full of water and poured it on top of the cake! Yes, he poured it on the cake...it was ruined!! All I could do was scream, Seth ran in the kitchen and I just started to cry. At this point Seth didn't know what had happened, and Dylan had non idea what was wrong with me. I wasn't mad at Dylan, there was no way I could be-he had been so helpful and had been using the measuring cups, he had no clue that it wasn't supposed to be poured on the cake!! He kept saying sorry, sorry, and cry then he kissed my tears! I decided that the memory Dylan and I made that day is much sweeter than any triple layer homemade chocolate cake!! I will cook with Dylan again, and I know there will be more mishaps, but it is all worth it! I love cooking and having Dylan help me is a blast. Any quality time I can spend with my little guy is so precious!! Here are a few pictures we captured and that I will always look at and think of the special day!

Our lovely Gage Park has a Carousel and Dylan and I went for a ride on it ! We went last summer and he didn't enjoy it at all, this summer went much better! He rode on the horse the whole time, with mommy holding on of course! After the ride we posed for some pictures with the Wizard of Oz characters!

Here Dylan is enjoying some play time at the pool after swimming lessons! He is doing well in his swimming lessons, but he gets to distracted and doesn't listen at times! He sees big kids going down a slide and jumping off the diving board, I think he wants to try them, but he doesn't understand that he is too little!!

What a difference a year makes!!

Here we are last summer at the pool and this summer at the pool! Last summer he liked the pool but couldn't do too much in it. Now he loves the pool and wants to be on his own in it! He doesn't understand that if mommy lets go, he can't just swim away and be fine!! It is actually a little scary at times that he is so brave and likes the pool so much!

What a difference in one year!! The first picture is last summer at the Wichita zoo and the second one was last week here in Topeka!! I can't believe how much bigger and grown up he is this summer! I thought he was a big boy last summer, but man, he seems so big now!! He has such a personality and likes to do things his way! He can be stubborn at times, but he is the sweetest and kindest little boy!

What a Fun Saturday!

Dylan is all boy! This is his favorite thing to do at grandma and grandpa's house, play in the rocks with water!! I am not sure how many trips we made back and fourth to the hose to fill up his watering cans!

He was so dirty that he had to have a bath before dinner!

Saturday we spent the day in KC with my parents. We went to their favorite place to take Dylan!! Dylan loves the goats and gets right up there and feeds them! He doesn't think twice about it, I actually caught him trying to feed Toby this way earlier today!

Here daddy and Dylan went in the area with the goats. I stayed out this time! Last time we went they jumped up on us and I didn't like it!

Swimming Lessons!

We had a rough first day of swimming lessons Monday-not because of Dylan, trust me, he loves the pool and getting in the water! Here is how is all began...back in April when I enrolled Dylan in swimming lessons I called to get him in the Parent-Tot class, and after talking with the lady she told me he should be in the preschool class since he liked the water and wasn't scared of it, so that is what I did. I figured she knew more about the classes than I did. Wrong...this whole time I have been very worried about the preschool class and just knew it wasn't going to be right for Dylan, but we took him anyway. Monday was the first day and we get there and Dylan gets with his class of 3-5 year olds (he isn't even 2 yet!!!). I talked with the head guy and he assured me that Dylan should be in the parent-tot class and that we could come back at 6:00 for it. This was at 9:30 in the morning--so poor Dylan had on his trunks (he is the cute one with the red shirt on next to the blond guy!!) and didn't get in the water--we went back at 6:00 (again in our suits) and no one was there, they closed the pool because of the storms earlier in the day--we didn't know that! So now, Dylan had his suit on twice and rode in the car to a pool that is 20 minutes away for NOTHING--and we did this 2 times in one day!!!!

Here we are Tuesday night at the right class! It was so much fun! We sang songs in the pool, kicked our feet, blew bubbles... I am trying to show Dylan how to blow bubbles, all he wanted to do was lick the water!
We floated on our back and tummy, of course with me holding him! He practiced kicking his feet and moving his arms. For the rest of the classes Seth is going to get in with us!

And under he goes! I was very worried about putting him all the way under, but I did and he survived! He did cough coming up, we need to work on closing our mouth under water!!

The family pretending to be flowers! This is also from Deanna Rose. Last week Dylan spent a few hours at Aunt Ashley and Uncle Brad's while Seth and I moved my stuff to my new school! If you can't tell, Dylan is writing on paper that says, BUY ME! I would just like to know what he is wanting to buy?? I can probably guess, basketballs, baseballs,footballs, golf balls, soccer balls...
