Last Day of Summer!

Oh no, what happened to Dylan's hand!! Anyone want to take a guess??

Genius at 2!! Do you see that, I was naming off countries and he was pointing right at them! I need to call Oprah and get him on her show!!! Ok, really he thought it was a ball and was spinning it around and around!!
See, the boy is obsessed with balls! He has his favorite things, blankie, pillow, juice, and a ball!! All ready for a nap! And no, he didn't take the ball to bed with him! I do draw the line sometimes!
Stop mom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am tired of pictures!

Here is my lovely new classroom!! Ok, well it isn't lovely yet, but it will be!! I have been going in this week to work in the mornings! I have gotten a lot done (even though it doesn't look like it!).
How do you like my tiny 1970s desk! It is small, but I don't sit there too much, so who cares! Today I took in a computer desk so it looks much better!

Here are the 2 main boards, I am finishing them up tomorrow. One is going to be book reviews and the other a star student board.
The backpack area! I love the cubbies underneath, they are much needed, the room is small and not a lot of storage room!
And the front of the room and the door to a closet.
Finally, my big helper!! I love the floors, they are the originals! The school was built in 1927!!!
I will post more when everything is done, and it actually looks like a classroom!

Brownies!!

Dylan and I enjoyed some time with his cousin Kylee today! We went into school for a while and I got a few things checked off my to do list, and thought of a million more things to add to my to do list!! I can't believe I go back to work next Wednesday and the kids come back 2 weeks from today! After working we had McDonalds and made brownies!!

As summer is coming to an end I think back at all the fun things Dylan and I got to do this summer! It really has been a fun summer! We went swimming, to the zoo, we had a tumbling class, visited the library several times, played at the park, rode the choo choo and played, played, played! Mommy also got to do some fun things, spent the weekend at the Plaza with the girls, went to Omaha with the family, went to Dallas with Ashley, tomorrow I am going to Wichita for the day and Friday night I am going to the Brad Paisley concert in KC!!! I love my summers with Dylan, but I have to admit I love going back to work every August! I get so anxious and excited to go back to school and meet my new group of students! I also love decorating my classroom and trying out new ideas I dreamt about all summer long!! This year is even more exciting since I will be teaching at a new school! I will miss Dylan like crazy but he is in good hands with Grandma and I know his cousins miss seeing him everyday!!

Bath Time!

The other night as Dylan was getting out of a real bath, some tiles around the tub decided to fall off the wall!!Seth blames me because I cleaned the bathtub that day and thinks I loosened them! I guess I just won't clean anymore, just fine with me!! So, we are doing a little remodel in the bathroom, so Dylan had to take a bath in the sink! Tomorrow we will head to Aunt Ashley's to bathe and then Monday it will be up and running again!!

Omaha Zoo Trip!

We all had a blast in Omaha! Friday when we got there it was about 95 degrees but we still enjoyed the zoo--however, Saturday it was a little cloudy and around 80 degrees!! It was a perfect day for the zoo! We started out in the aquarium Saturday! It was the neatest thing! They had tons of penguins and then a huge walk through aquarium. We were surrounded by fish, including, sharks,sting rays, turtles and many more! We also enjoyed the polar bear. He was just swimming around, he looked so relaxed!! As we were walking around looking at the animals, Dylan was going crazy! The first day we went in the desert and Dylan kept yelling, Snake and bird! He has such a loud energetic voice, so you can hear him a mile away! I could go on forever, but I will just show you some of our favorite pictures instead.

Dylan also like trains, and whenever he saw or heard the train he would stop and yell choo choo! This was when we were in line to ride on the tarin!

Brown Bag Concert

Every Thursday during the summer the city has concerts on the lawn of the State Capitol Building. People sit in the lawn and eat lunch or just enjoy the music and different bands play each week. We went last week with some friends and their sons and again this week. This week the band played all oldies music!! It was a lot of fun! My cousin Courtney went this week and her and Dylan enjoyed some dancing! After the concert the 3 of us went swimming-it sure was a fun day! Now we are all packed and heading to Omaha in the morning!! We are going with my parents, and Ash and Brad for the weekend! Check back Sunday for an update!

Dylan's 3rd 4th of July! Here he is with Aunt Ashley and below is at Grandma and Grandpa Packard's! He loved the fire works, they didn't bother him at all! He was just mad that he couldn't get out there and help!

Dylan finally statred to ride his tricycle all by himself Sunday evening! Seth was mowing the lawn so Dylan and I were playing outside. We got out his "bike" and I was pushing him along like I always do, but this time when I let go he kept going!! I was so proud of him! We ran over to daddy and showed him!

We went up and down our neighbor's driveway (they weren't home, so there were no cars in the driveway!) quite a few times then headed over to Seth's parents to show them!!
