Sibling Love

Dylan and Saylor are so in love with each other.

He loves to be right next to her.

Whenever she's playing on the floor, he wants to be next to her playing.

He talks to her all the time and gives her advice. One day in the car he was telling her not to worry because when she gets bigger she can turn her car seat around and have a TV on her side to watch.

He picked out 2 bouncy balls one day..one for him and one for Saylor. I said he could only get one and he picked the one for his sister.

She plays with it and always wants it...like she knows he picked it out for her.

I swear the girl says brubru (brother). I will say mama and I get brubrubrubrubru back!

I will say where Dylan and she looks around for him.

She looks up to her brother already.
Wants to watch him, play like him, and do what he's doing.


This boy also lights up when Saylor is around.
I have never seen him smile as big as he does when he's next to her.

He wants to hold her. Lay next to her. Play with her.


She's going to be a tough little girl.

She already has to put up with her brother playing pretty rough with her.

But those other boys better watch out...she's going to have a pretty protective big brother.

I hope they always have a strong bond and love for each other like they do now.

I love watching them together.

It melts my heart.

PreSchool

This past week Dylan started preschool. He went to preschool last year, but at Randolph with me. This year he is going to Country Side! I was so nervous for him. All summer he said he didn't really want to go and he wanted his old school. When we went to Meet the Teacher Day he wasn't thrilled until he saw his room!! Then he was excited!

I went in to school a little late on his first day so I could take him. As you can see he was very excited! He wasn't nervous at all. When we got to his school we waited in the carpool line and when it was his turn to get out he jumped right out and went in to the school. I was so proud of him. His first 2 days of gone pretty good. He cried the first day and he told his teacher it was because he missed his mom! I still can't believe I have a child old enough for 4 year old preschool. How is it possible that I have to go to Parent Night...when I am the parent and not the teacher talking to the parents. I feel like the last 4 years have gone by so fast. But I guess this is what it's all about...growing up and experiencing new and exciting things. At least I have a while before Miss Saylor will be ready for all of this!

Can't wait for the game this Saturday. I love being in Manhattan, love being in The Bill Snyder Family Stadium, and I love being around thousands of WILDCAT fans!!

Anything Like Daddy

Whenever I hear this is song I think of my lucky kids and their daddy. He is such a hands-on dad and would do anything for Dylan and Saylor. I don't know what went through Seth's mind when we found out our first baby was a boy. He was probably terrified and overjoyed at the same time. Flashbacks of his days as a young boy probably went through his head...that is what terrified him! And then the day we found out we were having a girl...Seth really wanted a daughter. He wanted a daddy's girl to spoil and protect. Everyday I watch Seth with our babies and I feel so lucky to be raising them with such an incredible man...and someone who truly loves being a daddy.

What we've been up to...

We've been up to a lot lately. We have had a busy end of summer. Sad it ends tonight.



One of our favorite spots has been the pool. They both love it. Too bad it has been too hot to spend a lot of time there lately. Saylor splashes away and watches all 0f the kids play and swim. Dylan has become more of a fish as the summer as gone by. He likes it a lot more now than he did in June, and he is a little more risky in the pool, not as scared!

Saylor has also been growing. Too fast for me! Knowing she's my last baby, watching her reach milestones is a little bittersweet. She has been sitting more and more on her own. And she just gets cuter every day!

Dylan also had 2 weeks of Creative Play. I was worried it would go like this again. But it didn't. He never cried. Never said he missed me. Just LOVED every minute of it. I was so happy! At the end of the 2 weeks they have a little concert.

We have also started baby food. She is a big fan. She makes an awful face the first few bites every time then we can't get it to her fast enough. We have to be careful when we eat in front of her, she gets mad. She stares at us and tries to grab our plates. It is pretty funny!!

Dylan and I have also been making home made ice cream. All I have to say about that is YUMMY!!! We love it!

Going fishing...mommy style

Dylan has been asking to go on a picnic all summer long. I keep telling him we've been on picnics. But I guess going to a park, eating lunch on a picnic table is NOT a picnic in his mind. He wanted a picnic on the ground with a blanket. So that's what we did today. Let me just tell you...picnics on a picnic table is more my style!!

He also wanted to go fishing. I am not the fishing kind of mommy! I will go watch him fish but I have no clue how to set up a fishing pole and actually fish. So, during our picnic we went fishing...momma style!!

Step 1: dip bread stick into cheese.

Step 2: Catch a fish.

Step 3: EAT

Now, that is the type of fishing I can handle!!

Omaha Getaway!

We spent the weekend in Omaha! We left Friday morning and our plans were to just stay one night, but Saturday we decided to stay another night! I am so glad we did!!
This is how it stayed in the car almost the entire trip, except Saylor was usually looking at Dylan smiling! She didn't sleep much because she was too interested in Dylan! First thing we did when we got to the zoo was the aquarium! Dylan wanted to she the sharks! It is such an amazing aquarium! I love the penguins! I guess Saylor didn't care much for the penguins, she liked looking at the people next to her!

My 2 little ones! They did so good! We spent a couple hours at the zoo Friday and 4 1/2 hours there on Saturday and no problems at all! Saylor was so happy and content in her stroller and Dylan was just as happy walking along with us!

The Polar Bears. This guy is so much fun to watch! Last time he was a swimming fool. This time, he didn't swim much. Still, one of our favorites to see.

Whenever Dylan hopped on the stroller for a ride, he would lean into Saylor and kiss her or talk to her!! LOVE this stroller!! Dylan can hop on or off as he pleases!!

We stayed at CoCo Keys. It is an indoor water park/hotel. It was perfect. Dylan LOVED every minute of it! I liked that we could have fun and not worry about Saylor being in the sun too much. We sat and watched Dylan do this slide hundreds of times! He was only supposed to go on his bottom...but he was sneaky and would go on his tummy. Whenever a life guard would walk by he would wait and then go down on his belly when they couldn't see. It kind of made me laugh!! I shouldn't have let him, but he was having so much fun. He also loved standing under a bucket that 200 gallons of water would dump out! I was so proud of him! This is a kid that didn't even want to swim 2 months ago and now is standing under 200 gallons of water!! He thought it was awesome, and he almost lost his pants one time...that's how hard it comes down!

And this is how we ended our last night...2 sleeping kids by 8:00! Dylan asked to leave the pool at 7:45 and he was out in no time once we got to our room! Sunday morning he was mad that we couldn't stay longer though!

And the car ride home...our 2 kiddos holding hands! The love they already have for each other amazes me!
