Night out with Dylan

Saturday night was all about Dylan. We found out that Monster Jam was going to be in KC and we knew that we had to go!! Dylan loves monster trucks, and he always wants to watch Monster Jam! It was the perfect outing!
Aunt Ashley came over to watch Saylor and we headed to KC. Our plan was to eat dinner at the T-Rex Cafe, but the wait was too long. We went to a BBQ place instead and told Dylan we would go back to T-Rex the next day with Saylor!! Here is our little man on the way...holding his monster truck the entire time!
Once we got there he got his ear plugs in and was ready to go! It was SO loud, and I am very happy he had those ear plugs. He loved every minute of it. The monster trucks did lots of tricks, but I thought the motorcycles and 4-wheelers did the coolest tricks!! Dylan was a little bummed that not too many of the trucks he likes were there...but he still had fun!!

I love watching these two. They are such great buddies. I know I have said it before, but I am so happy my two babies have such an awesome daddy!

Dylan looked like this by the time we pulled into the drive way. I think out night out was a success!!

Perfect Date

Dylan and I had the perfect date last Friday night.
I have so many more wonderful pictures to share.
But Blogger isn't cooperating.
It hasn't been cooperating all week.
So I will show you the one and only that it will let me upload.

We started at dinner. He chose HuHot. It's his favorite.

We splurged and got the S'Mores. Real fire comes to your table. All the fixins for S'Mores.

He thought it was pretty darn cool. And it was! And it tasted so yummy. Except for the marshmallows that caught on fire. Dylan and I aren't a fan of those.

Next up was the Expocentre for Mickey's Magic Show.

He was so excited.

We got a light-up Mickey thing. Wast of $20 but just about anything for my little man.

We took our seats and chatted until the show started.

He loved it.

Sat so quietly.

He was in awe. I think I watched him more than the show.

During intermission we got cotton candy. It came with a hat. What a deal for 10 bucks!!!

Again, just about anything for my little man.

We ended the night walking out to the parking lot.

Holding hands and talking about our favorite parts.

He liked when they cut the girl in half.

Nice uh!!

He is such a great kid.

He deserves night like this.

If he thought that was cool...I can't wait to see his eyes light up when he sees Mickey and friends again this summer....

Saylor and her baby

A month or so ago my mom told me that she wanted to get Saylor a Bitty Baby for her birthday. I knew right away that we needed to make it a fun girl's afternoon when we went to pick it out! So, I dressed Saylor up in one or my favorite dresses and we headed to Kansas City. We dropped Dylan off with grandpa and then headed out. We did some shopping for her party first then headed to the American Girl Store. I was a little overwhelmed. I had no idea what I was getting myself into!
After finding the Bitty Babies we gave Saylor her 2 options. She immediately gravitated to one of them. She grabbed it and gave it kisses! We knew that was the one. She's so lucky to have such a great grandma! They love each other so much!
I can't wait for her birthday party so she can open it up!

Do you have a bestie?

If not, you should get one.

And even if you are 30 (or 25 like my bestie is) it's still cool to act like you're 13 and call each other bestie.

Mainly because you know it annoys other people.

But really...having a bestie is fabulous!

You can text with your bestie for hours.

And while you are texting add in some facebook chat.

And if you have even more to say...write on their wall on facebook.

Yep, text, chat, and writing on their wall.

And if that's not enough...add in some comments on their status.

That's what you do if you want to pretend you're 13 and you have a bestie.

You also email your bestie all day long.

About random things like..

I really need a Diet Dr. Pepper, or

did you see what they were wearing today, and a little

want to go out for an extra long recess today, and maybe

do you like the outfit for Saylor, and the best...

want to go to dinner before craft night?

That's the email I got Friday about 3:00 from my bestie.

So, we had some dinner and a Bud Light Lime.

On our way home we decided to stop and get a 6-pack of our favorite beer.

Instead of a 6-pack we thought getting a pint would be so much more fun.

So, we each got our pint and specifically asked the cashier to put them in brown paper bags and headed out the door.

We couldn't wait to see Seth's face when we walked in for craft night with our

"almost 40 ouncer".

He thought we were crazy.

We were.

We didn't care.

A Friday night with Bud Light Lime, yummy Chilis, crafts, and a bestie...what could be better!

Who doesn't need 2 "almost 40-ouncers" with their craft supplies???

And even better, we had a helper with our crafts!

Redneck Kind of Day

I don't know why...but when I tell you what we did this past Saturday I feel a little like a redneck. Not that there is anything wrong with that...I'm just not sure I ever imagined I would do these 2 things in the same day.

Ready...we took Dylan to a Monster Truck Show. He even rode on one with his daddy. It was a last minute idea. At 5:00 we said, let's take Dylan to the show and by 6 we were dropping Saylor off with Grandma Packard and we were off. We didn't tell Dylan what we were doing. He asked if it was kind of like Disney World..I wish buddy!!! He had fun. And that's all that matters!And earlier in the day we bought Dylan his very own bowling ball. Not sure why...but I feel it's a little redneckish. His daddy bowls. Just about all the Packard boys have bowled. It's a family thing. He likes it. He does pretty well. We thought it was time for a ball of his own. We have taken him bowling twice since getting it. He bowled 3 days in a row. I think his arm is tired. When we went today he got a 16 and a 20. He doesn't like to use bumpers anymore. He usually does OK without them. Not today. He was doing so bad that people next to us felt bad and asked if he wanted the bumpers. He didn't. And he didn't care that he was getting all gutters. He was having fun with his brand new bowling ball. I am pretty sure he would sleep with it if we let him.

After that exciting weekend..I can only imagine what next weekend has in store for us!!!

My Boy

My favorite boy...
I just love this boy. I mean, I know he's my son, so of course I love him...but in my eyes he is THE BEST!
We hung out all day. Just him and I. Running errands and shopping. As our day was coming to an end I was thinking about how good he is. He is such a good shopping buddy! He walks next to me or holds my hand. He doesn't run off or beg for candy. He doesn't complain about being bored. We talk and walk and bond. I love it!

I love the funny things that come out of his mouth. He has a way of talking that cracks us up.

And he is a scardey cat! I don't mind though. There are times I wish he was a little more brave. More willing to try something new. But I like that he's cautious about people and things. Especially when we are out and about.

He LOVES school. He loves his teacher and his friends. He wants to go and wants to do his best. This makes me happy!

He wants to be in the kitchen with me. When I step foot in the kitchen he's about 2 steps behind with his step stool. Always wanting to help. And that, I love too!!

I am a lucky momma.

Dress-Up

I love dressing Saylor up in one of the many special outfits she has. On a day to day basis when she's going from home to grandma's I usually put her in something comfy and casual. So, when it comes time to go somewhere I LOVE it. I will fully admit that it takes me much longer to pick out her outfit than it does my own. I have also been known to put her in one outfit, not like it so much, and change her again! If you've seen her closet you would fully understand why it takes me so long to pick an outfit out for her. It drives Seth crazy!
So, during Christmas I had so much fun! We got to get dressed up everyday!! I LOVED it!
Day 1...sequin bow shirt and matching red cords!! Adorable..thanks Grandma Shaver! Day 2...full Gymobree outfit!! I could NEVER afford to dress her in head to toe Gymboree, but I go crazy with their clearance and buy for the next season! So, she's wears a lot of Gymboree stuff a year late! And my aunt works there...that helps too!!

Day 3...Gymobree once again! I will say, we got 2 good uses out of this one! She wore it to our good friend's wedding and Christmas Eve.

Day 4...Babies R Us dress. Love the sparkly polka dots!!

People say I am so lucky to have a girl so I can dress her up..but I loved dressing Dylan up when he was a baby too! Now he picks his own shirts out a lot, and it's usually a vintage inspired cartoon shirt. Not my favorite, but he's my boy and he looks pretty darn cute in them!
