cupcakes, cupcakes, and more cupcakes

Ashley came over Thursday evening and the 2 of us (well, Dylan helped too) decorated lots of cupcakes! We love to bake and decorate for the holidays (or just for the heck of it)! We found some cute ideas and recreated them ourselves.

This first one I did all by myself, and I even thought of the idea! I thought it turned out pretty cute!

This one may be my favorite! It was on a cupcake, but we decided to make a cake! So cute, and very easy!

Here is a mummy cupcake (with Frankenstein in the background)!

These didn't turn out that great, we will work on them some more next year! They are supposed to be Frankenstein! And here ate the bats! Cutting the peanut butter cups was hard, but so much fun because I got to eat the left over pieces!

The best helper ever! This boy loves to help in the kitchen, and I love his help! Such a fun time for the two of us!

Carving Pumpkins!

Last night we carved our pumpkins for Halloween. It is so much fun and a tradition I know we will continue as long as our kids allow it! I can remember drawing on paper how I wanted my pumpkin to look when I was younger then my dad carved it out EXACTLY how I wanted it! It was always so much fun. The part I hated was waiting to carve them. We would always get our pumpkins early in October but we wouldn't carve them until the week of Halloween!

This year we found some cool face piece that Dylan could use to decorate his pumpkins. They were like a Mr. Potato Head!

Here is one of his pumpkin creations! So cute! We let him pick out what piece then we put them in. It was a little tough.
This was so fun last night! When Seth opened up the pumpkins Dylan wasn't sure what to do. All he could say was ewwww! It was so cute. After a while he was sticking his hands in there and a spoon to help clean it out (that is why he is shirtless!). After he realized it was fun, he couldn't stop cleaning them out and touching all the inside slimy stuff! He would say, Dylan will do it!

This one looks like he is picking a prize and had to close his eyes!

I was done carving my pumpkin so Dylan and I went outside to put it on the porch and see it all lit up. When we came back in we noticed Seth had his drill out and was using that to make dots or something??!! So...Dylan had to get his drill out and do the same. It was too funny, Dylan didn't even think twice, he just went straight to it like his daddy!Our Jack-O-Lantern masterpieces! We bought lights that go inside that flash red or switch different colors. Pretty fancy compared to the candles we always used!

Hello All!!

Hello! I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful fall weather! I know I am! Here are some updates of our past week and a half! We have been busy, like always! This is just a cute one of Dylan trying on a witches hat my mom brought up! He came running to me like this, so of course I had to get a picture! Another cute one from Friday. We were just hanging out on the front porch trying to decide if we should play in the backyard or go to the store. We opted for playing!

Dylan got a new table and chairs. This boy LOVES to color so he sits up there all the time and colors away!

Dylan and his cousin Whitney at the Washburn soccer game. Whitney is a senior and will play at Washburn next year. We took Dylan so he can start to get used to going to all the games next year! He sat there very well! If you can tell, he has on a KU hat and KSU shirt. This was Saturday after both games!


And here is Dylan with his other cousin Courtney. Courtney is a sophomore at K-State and Friday we went to Manhattan to have lunch with her! We also went down to Aggieville to go to Varneys. I was telling Dylan how much time and money mommy spent there back in her college days! He doesn't understand why, but someday in a long long time I'm sure he will!

The other night I was trying to get a "grumpy" picture of Dylan to send in for a contest with a local radio station. The next 3 is what I got. I guess we won't be winning this contest!

A couple weeks ago our friends Dave and Emily came over with their son Jaxon. Dylan was showing him the Dog Book. They enjoyed playing together and Dylan was quite the showoff with his basketball skills!

Happy Birthday!

Hey, it is me Dylan! Mommy is at work, she has lots of conferences and has to work until 8:00 today and tomorrow. I promised her I would wait up though!! The good news is...grandpa is going to come and spend the day with me while mommy is working. I am sooooooooo excited. I know Grandpa is too. Grandma usually comes to clean with me, I mean play with me, but she has some important guy coming to work to talk budgets or something. Another good thing is, mommy gets to stay home with me Friday. I know we will do something fun!!

Oh, why am I blogging, and not mom, well she is at work...duh!! OK really, because tomorrow is Uncle Brad's birthday! I wanted to do something fun for him. Uncle Brad is Aunt Ashley's husband. He is a lot of fun (so is Aunt Ashley!). So, here is a poem I wrote about my Uncle Brad.

My Uncle Brad is a cool man,

And he is a big K-State fan,

He plays with me all the time,

And sometimes gives me a nickel, quarter, or dime,

He likes to buy me tractors, but only if they're green,

And he never says anything mean,

He is a really good uncle and I am glad he belongs to me,

Because when we are together we are as silly as can be!

Happy Fall!

Dylan, Seth, my parents, and I went to the pumpkin patch a couple weeks ago. It was a lot of fun, we took a tractor ride to the fields and picked our own pumpkins! My poor dad had to carry a lot of pumpkins for my mom! Which pumpkin do you think is Dylan's?

Dylan and daddy found great pumpkins! Seth is looking forward to carving pumpkins again this year! Last year he carved a "cool" one and someone stole it off the front porch. He is still upset about that one!!
Do you see a pattern, Dylan would not let go of his pumpkin! He was very proud of it!
It was fun going out in the field and finding pumpkins. You had to watch your step though, there were pumpkins everywhere!!!

You would think Dylan was watching Bob the Builder, Backyardigans, Calliou or another favorite of his, but he was watching 30 Minute Meals! I guess he is a Rachel Ray fan!

Long Update!

Pumpkin Patch part 1! We went last Saturday at 5:00-come to find out, they close at 5:00, so we jumped in the hay and went home! We are going again so I will have a full update soon! Dylan thought it was so much fun jumping in the hay-he is a brave little guy!

Last month was art class, this month is a tumbling/obstacle course class. When we pulled up Dylan kept saying art class, art class, I think he liked this one just as much as art class! They had to go all around and pick up colored cups and put them in the big circle. We also went through an obstacle course, ran to music and played with a big parachute!

The other night I was making dinner and I looked out the kitchen window and this is what I saw! I had to grab my camera and take a picture! I just thought it was so cute, they look like they are really having a deep conversation about something! Come to find out they were sitting there because they were throwing mulch on the slide!!! What an incredible dad Seth is, Dylan and I are so lucky!!

Last weekend we went to a carnival and they had every vehicle you could imagine. Dylan loves all modes of transportation, he goes nuts when he sees them on the road and knows all their names. Well, he wouldn't get close to any real cool ones this time! He did climb in the school bus, he thought that was pretty cool. He was a little obesessed with his glasses this day. He kept putting them on top of his head!

He liked driving the police car, or police man car if you ask Dylan! The horn was really hard to push!!

It looks like he is thinking, get me out of here-this is for bad guys!!!
