just some things to share...

Ok, so I am going to be quite random with this post! My 2 guys are bowling in the living room. Have you ever had 2 people bowl on hardwood floors in the living room...it is VERY loud! Dylan is so funny though, he will say, "I'm going to put my arm up like yours daddy" then he bowls and sometimes gets a strike. He now knows what strikes are and he tries to put a spin on the ball (again, just like daddy)!
Alright, so the school year is coming to an end and I found this fun idea to give to my students as a gift on the last day! It is a candy bar wrapper! It is supposed to go on the Hershey bar--over the foil. This wasn't the right kind of candy bar, but it is what I asked Seth to get, so I won't complain! Now, I just need to watch for Hershey bars to go on sale since I need 19 of them!!

On to the next random thing...my new ring! Ever since Dylan was born I have wanted pearl jewelry (that is his birthstone). I found this ring on ETSY and I just had to have it! It came in the mail today and I just love it! Every time I wear I will think of my sweet Dylan. I feel like rambling, so count this as your warning! I love having a son. I never really thought about what it would be like to have a son. Only having a sister, I never knew what it was like having a boy in the house. Well, let me tell you, it is AWESOME!! I love all the "boy" things we do. I love the bond that Dylan and Seth have. I love that he absolutely loves his mommy and wants me to get in bed and sing him songs at night. I love that when we are going somewhere he will reach up to hold my hand. I love that he will give me kisses and hugs in the middle of the grocery store. I can't wait to watch him play his first t-ball game this summer. I can't wait to send him off to preschool in his little plaid shorts and polo shirt! I can't believe Dylan will be 3 this summer, he is growing up to be such a sweet and lovable little boy!!

And my last one...how do you like my choice of clothes here? Well, each one on there own are fine (at least I think so) but all together, as one outfit...not so good! This is what I wore to school today. The orange and white was a tank top under the green and blue (and trust me, you could see the orange and white) and then I had on the plaid shorts! Oh, I also had on one white flip flop and one black flip flop! Did I forget to mention today was mismatch day??? Dylan looked at me this morning and said, what it that, while pointing to my outfit!

Things that make me HAPPY!!

Here are some random things that make me HAPPY!

Summer...it is only 17 1/2 days away!! I will miss my students (most of them!!) but I am so excited to spend my days with my little man!! We have a lot planned! We are going to Disney World in June. Seth and I are going to Vegas in July. Dylan is going to play T-Ball, he is in some artsy classes and creative play preschool for 2 weeks! So excited! These 2 make me the happiest!!! I love my husband. He is fabulous! He takes good care of Dylan and I!
I love, love, love my baby boy!!! He makes me happier than I could have ever imagined! He is such a joy every single day.
It makes me SOOOOOOOOO happy when I see these two together! They are perfect. I hear other stories of dads and husbands that aren't all that helpful around the house, let me just say, I am one lucky girl!My family. Just one word, the BEST!! Ok, that was 2, but you get the picture!

My cousins! They are awesome!

My JCrew flip flops that came in the mail today! I am still waiting for the navy blue and white ones! They are the most comfy flip flops I have ever owned!

Another fun thing in the mail, my Family Fun magazine! Such a great one and the website is awesome too! I find so many fun holiday treats and crafts on there!

My beautiful flowers my friend Tiffany sent me, they were just what I needed! Thanks Tiff!

My new comforter! I love getting new ones, and look mom, my bed is made! I have to say that I am not a fan of our king size bed, but I could never sleep in a queen size after having this for several years!! It was great when we had a HUGE master, but now that we moved into the downstairs room, I just don't like it!! Oh well, it is comfortable!! I think I now need to run out to Kohls to get some throw pillows!!

And on a side note, do you make your bed every morning? My parents do and I think they are crazy!! Just curious what others do!

And one more happy thought...that my good college buddy Dave is turning 30 today and not me!!!! Well, I will be 30 in a little over a year, and I am not all that worried about it, but I don't mind staying in my 20s for another year or so! Happy 30th Dave--thanks for putting up with me during our crazy college days--you were the best (Amanda--if you read this you will have to pass the birthday greeting on to Dave since I am sure he doesn't read my blog!!).

Manners and new golf clubs!

I am so thankful Dylan has manners (well most of the time). He says please and thank you. That is a biggie for me. I am not sure there is anything sweeter than a 2 1/2 year old boy telling the clerk at the store thank you (without me having to tell him to do so). Well maybe, I love you too mommy is sweeter, but thank you is a close second!! I see so many kids at school with NO manners at all and at such a young age they have so much anger and disrespect in their voice...it is so sad. How can an 8 year old think that it is OK to be so rude and mean, I cannot even stand it! I hope Dylan is NEVER as disrespectful to his teachers and classmates (or anyone) as some of my students are this year...it is unbelievable and a very sad thing.



And on to some happier news...Dylan has his very own golf clubs!! Dylan is left handed so it is tough to find him gold clubs in his size. Seth found some at Dick's a few weeks ago and bought him a pitching wedge. Well, the moment my dad saw Dylan's gold club he had to run out to Dick's to buy him the rest!! There are just 4 in left handed and in Dylan's size!! He has an iron, putter, driver, and pitching wedge now! He also got his very own golf bag. My dad sent me the picture tonight and I showed Dylan, he just starred at the computer in amazement!! He said, "those are my golfin clubs" and then I said what do you need to tell Grandpa...and guess what he said..."thank you"!!! So we called and said thanks to grandpa! Dylan is going to my parent's house Friday and my dad is going to take him to the driving range (I don't know who is more excited, my dad or Dylan)!!

My View

Tonight as I was making dinner I looked out my window and this was my view...

Ok, maybe not because as you know, I live in Topeka, KS!! A girl can dream a little can't she!!

Anyway, my view was soooooooooooooo much better than that...

Dylan and Seth were in the backyard playing-you can't see Dylan but he's there, playing in his turtle sandbox!! Nothings better than cooking dinner and seeing your 2 favorite guys out back playing. Everything Seth did Dylan had to do too, it was so cute. The little guy looks up to his daddy so much! I am one lucky mommy and wife!!

Then my view the other way was Oprah! She had a country special on, I am so mad I didn't DVR it! I did get to catch one of my favorites, Sugarland (taking a picture of the TV didn't work very good, but it is them!!)! You know how I did a post a couple of days ago about my songs and wanting Seth to take some lessons to sing them to me...I thought it through and I think both of us should take lessons so we can sing some Sugarland duets. I will add my favorite one of theirs to my playlist--just switch to it on my IPOD or MP3 player or whatever I have down there on my blog!! Oh, and I know people, it would take me TONS of lessons to even sound OK when singing, I am sure no teacher as the time it would take me!! But don't worry Ash and Maggie, I will still sing my heart out when we see Sugarland in May!!!

And one more of Dylan enjoying is slide!! He is getting to be such a big boy!! I just love him so much and can't wait for summer vacation so I can spend everyday with him. 5 more weeks!!!

Easter

Last week we decorated Easter eggs. Dylan was really into it this year. He enjoyed dropping the eggs in and seeing what they transformed into.

On Saturday we had Easter with Seth's family. It was a beautiful day.

Sunday we headed up to my grandma's house to celebrate with my family.

Dylan had a hard time keeping his shirt tucked in! When we went shopping to get his Easter outfit, he picked out the dinosaur tie and matching socks. It was pretty cute!!

songs

As you can probably tell I added a couple songs to my blog (if you have your volume down or on mute, you probably think I am nuts, but turn it up and listen!!). These are 2 songs that I LOVE right now. I am huge country music fan, always have been and always will be. There is just nothing better in my opinion (and luckily my husband agrees, so we have no arguments in the car). The first one is The Zac Brown Band...love them. There first big hit was Chicken Fried and this is their single out right now. The second one is Bard Paisley's new song. These two songs make me want to enroll Seth in some singing and guitar lessons so he can sing them to me every night!! He thinks he can sing sometimes (especially after a few captain and cokes!!) but I think a few lessons would help some!!

Golfing...again

Do you see a pattern in what we do in our free time...I will say it again, Dylan LOVES to golf!! He asked if we could go yesterday, but if you live in Kansas you know that it was in the 30s yesterday and in the 60s today!! So, we went today after work! Daddy had to bowl so it was just Dylan and I. We went to watch Seth bowl after our game of golf! I was a little worried though, when I picked up Dylan he said that he wanted to play on the golf course...not putt putt!! He was more than happy with putt putt though!
