Halloween Party

Saturday afternoon Dylan had a Halloween Party for some of his friends. He was so excited about it and kept asking me who was coming!
When the kids arrived we started with making our own pizzas. They each had a pumpkin shaped pizza crust and topped it with sauce, pepperoni, and cheese!
As they baked the colored a pumpkin and played in the living room!I am pretty proud of my fruit bowls I made! I just cut oranges like you would a pumpkin and put fruit salad inside! I am pretty sure the moms were more impressed with this than the kids! I am also known as the crazy one since I do these parties at my house and the pumpkin oranges made me more crazy! They assured me that it's a good crazy though!

After we ate we sat ob the driveway and painted pumpkins. I am so happy it was such a nice day and we were able to do this outside. The kids seemed to enjoy painting and picking out their colors!

We then came back inside and they all played for a while. Then they decorated a cupcake!

It was a fun afternoon. I really do love planning these parties and having friends over!! Now I will have think about what to do for a Christmas party!! Or would that make me even more crazy!!

Will we be buying pink or blue???

Today we had our sonogram appointment. I was so anxious to find out if we were having another wonderful boy or a little girl. Part of me wanted a boy so I would still get to be the queen of the house. Part of me wanted a girl. Well, just so I could buy dresses and lots of pink!! But really, I wanted a girl so I could have the mother-daughter relationship that my mom and I have. I really want that with my own daughter.

Through the first 20 weeks of this pregnancy things kept happening that caused more "drama" than when we had Dylan. I kept telling my mom, it's a girl. She is already being a little drama queen and causing me headaches!!

Well...we are having a GIRL!
I can't believe it. I really never thought I would have a girl. I figured I would have all boys, and I was fine with that. But, I am so thrilled! I am excited that we will have our little boy and our baby girl. I can keep telling Dylan he's my favorite boy. I will get to tell my daughter she's my favorite girl!!

Only 20 more weeks until we get to meet her! Oh, and her name...Saylor Rene`

Field Trip

Last week Dylan had his first field trip. I am lucky enough to have a principal that offered to sub in my room so I could join is class. I was so happy that I could go and see Dylan interact with his friends!!

It was a very chilly Friday morning! I don''t know who was colder, the kids or the adults. I am guessing the adults!

At the pumpkin patch we went on a tractor ride. Dylan wanted to sit next to one of his teachers, Landry!
The pumpkin that Dylan picked out. He said he was going to give it to Grandma Packard because she didn't have any pumpkins. Guess where the pumpkin is...sitting on our front porch!! I guess he changed his mind about giving it to Grandma Packard!

School Carnival

All 3 of the latest posts have been from the same weekend.

We did the pumpkin patch, I went to the races, and we had my school's carnival.

Dylan had so much more fun this year than he did last year.

He really enjoyed a lot of the games and understood the concept.

He was excited to win a can of pop at this game.

I mean, daddy was excited Dylan won a can of pop at this game!!

At the "Great Wall" Dylan raced a girl from my class!

She didn't think it was fair that Dylan got the better tricycle!!

Then I reminded her of their age difference!

This one was a little tough for Dylan.

It was tough for a lot of the kids.

It was a beautiful afternoon for the carnival.
Dylan loved it and it was a nice way to spend the afternoon.
I am glad I don't have to hear "Hi Mrs. Packard" every Saturday though.
I like my 2 day break from my very lovely 23 7 and 8 year olds!!

Pumpkin Patch

Last weekend we ventured out to the pumpkin patch! Last year we went to a pumpkin patch in Lawrence with my mom and dad, and it was awesome!! I loved how we went out in huge fields to actually pick out pumpkins! There were some great ones, and not so great ones! It was just a great experience!! This year we decided to do the same. We met grandma and grandpa Shaver in Lawrence for breakfast then headed to the pumpkin patch. It was a pretty chilly Saturday morning, but made it feel more like fall!!

Looking at this picture reminds me that a lot is about to change for our little family of 3. I can't believe that in 20 weeks we will be adding a baby brother or sister (we find out in 10 days--woohoo) to our family.
To start, we had to take tractor ride out to the fields. Dylan loved being squeezed between grandma and grandpa!

Once we got out there we started our search for the perfect pumpkins. Dylan only wanted a small one that he could carry. We looked at a lot of pumpkins. Seth was in charge of looking at them. The stems are a little spiky and they hurt my hands!!

Off to the races...

Where do I start??!!
This weekend I once again became a Nascar fan! My mom and I went last year, and well, I am kinda hooked!! I don't watch the races, I can't name very many racers...but seeing them live is so much fun!!
This time the fun started on Thursday! See--my dear momma is in Clint Bowyer's fan club. He is a driver, and he's a Kansas Boy!! Being in the fan club means you (and a guest) can go to his private fan club party. Being the sucker I am, I went to the party with my mom! I honestly felt like a BIG DORK!! We had him sign our matching Clint Bowyer shirts, and had our picture taken with him and then with his car. My mom was so excited. Kind of like how I would be if I got to meet...ummm...maybe...Taylor Swift. I know, dorky and so high school, but I love her. Just like my mom loves Clint Bowyer!
The race was Sunday and this time my sister came along. My mom and I talked about how great it was last year, so she decided to give it a try.
Before the race started we had tickets to a private tent. Along with this we got lunch, drinks (beer for them, water for me--boohoo), and tours of the pits. How cool. It is one of those things that is neat to see, but I wouldn't go down and do the pit tours again. We got to see up close and personal where the pit crew hang out and keep all of their car things. There were a lot of BIG tires. I mean A LOT!!

What a day!! It was so much fun spending an entire day with just my mom and sister. We were a little out of our element but we had so much fun!!

Next time we are renting the cool head phones so we can hear what the drivers are saying. What do you think you would say if you were going 200+ MPH and there were 30 other cars very close to you? I am pretty sure what I would be saying wouldn't be kid friendly!!!!
